Default Missed a shift bad, freaking out.

Ok, I missed the 2-3 upshift pretty hard yesterday on the highway trying to merge from the shoulder into traffic. I think I let the clutch out before I had the shifter in 3rd and when I went to hit the gas, just shot the rpms up and bounced off the rev limiter maybe twice. I knew it didn't go in gear because the shifter centered without me manipulating the clutch pedal. Also, the rear end jumped pretty hard giving me the low trac light and whatnot.. I pulled over and I wasn't puking anything on the ground so I continued home. I didn't hear any unusual noises but it scared the living **** out of me. I know it's a repetitive question but could I have bent a pushrod? I'm thinking I didn't because I haven't experienced any trouble so far and the car was driven another 150 miles back to Lejeune after I did that. Like I said, I can't hear any unusual noises and my dad took the car for a quick spin and said it seemed fine to him. I would listen for the pushrods scraping but don't really know what they sound like or how to isolate it. Any suggestions? I might be able to get under the hood this week since I have nothing really going on at work but I need to know how to remove these *******. Thanks guys.

If you bent a pushrod, you'd know it. It's a very distinct sound

I wouldn't worry about it, especially if it bounced off the rev limiter. I once did the exact same thing, except that the limiter didn't kick in and the motor went 1500 RPM's over it's red line. I thought I royally fucked something up but that was 25K miles ago and it's still running strong.

If the low trac came on and the rear jumped you shifted in to first. Bent pushrods make a pretty distinct noise. If everything drives fine I wouldn't worry.

Well that makes me feel a lot better, except for the shifting to first part. Oh well, life goes on. Thankfully I didn't hurt it. I was sitting there talking to the car the entire way home say "Daddy didn't mean to do that." and "Daddy knows, he's a dumbass." Lol. I'm going to try to get around to checking them this week for peace of mind but my mind is at greater ease than it was before. I have been looking for videos to diagnose it and I don't have the loud ticking that I have heard on most of them. It's pretty easy to replace the pushrods, right? Just pull the valve covers and whatnot? Let me know. Thanks again.

I've bounced off the limiter maybe 10 times over the years and never heard any bad sounds afterwards. Its still fine today. If you messed something up you'd know it. Its not really that easy to hurt something, the limiter does its job. Its when people stay into the throttle that mess **** up after hitting the limiter.

The tires screeched and it revved to almost 10 grand before I put the clutch back in. I had hondata and the tuner didnt set a revlimit!!! O **** I **** my pants it was scary but it drove fine lol.
