Default Horrible squeeking door

Ok so this started a couple weeks after i bought my car in and over the couple months that I've had it has gotten progressively worse. Now everytime I open the door it makes one of the loudest creaks/squeeks I have ever heard. Car looks/runs good but every time i get in or out just sounds like a huge pos! Is there anything I could use to lubricate it or something or do I just need a new hinge because my roommate had a similar problem with his grand am and tried everything from jb80, to lithium grease and a bunch of other stuff and nothing helped he says i need a new hinge. Another friend told me he must have been lubricating the wrong part and I should be able to fix my problem with a lubricant like lithium grease. Any ideas?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-produ...available.html <~ take advantage of that, Got mine in less than a week and that should get rid of a squeeking door. Stopped the squeek in my apartment door anyhow.

Lithium grease should last the longest. The spray ons would also work but will start to creak again faster.

Yeah my roommate tried wd-40 and the spray on grease on his hinge and they both fixed it for like a day and then the creak came right back plus every single little particle of dust and dirt accumulated on it which is why i'm kinda reluctant to go spend money on one of the spray on lubes.

I used the spray on lithium grease. Haven't had a problem since.

I first tried using the tube kind, but I wasn't able to get it into all of the areas that rub aswell, so the problem came back almost instantly.

I use spray white lithium grease. I coat the hinges, springs, and the notched bar & roller.

Guys, I challenge anyone to put Fluid Film to the test. It will outlast any competitive product, including white lithium grease. There really is no comparison.

Just in case you haven't seen our offer elsewhere: If you've never tried Fluid Film and live in the US, just PM me your contact info and I'll supply a sample can for free. That is how confident we are that Fluid Film will blow away the competition.

Sorry to hijack the thread but my doors sem to be sagging at the hinge. Would it be easier or more effective to replace the hinge vs. replacing the whole door??

Do not use lithium grease or especially WD-40! They aren't the right stuff. (WD-40 will disolve the other lubricants and wash off in water, leaving you with a more severe. Grease won't get in to all of the pressure points as easy as an oil.)

GM's service manual calls for SuperLube. I've been using it for years on my F-Body and it works great. A couple drops of SuperLube on the hinge pin and I'm good for at least 2 years.

The stuff comes in a precision oiler: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg which makes it really easy to get the drops in the right place.

Count me in! I just found a re-usable Precision Oiler today by Empire http://www.animats.com/nagle/aetheri...isionoiler.jpg, which should work great for the hinges. (I'm also hoping it will keep better in my toolbox.)

i'm having this same problem and just tried some all purpose oil which is what my dad used on his 04 impala when it was squeaking. it looks like my bushing? (that goes around the door pin) is worn a bit and maybe thats the problem? my pass side door makes no noise and the bushing on that side appears to be in better shape..
