Front turning lamp sockets...
I took it to the dealership thinking it was just a bulb that needed to be replaced but they ended up telling me that it wasn't the bulb but the socket that it was connected to. I almost said go ahead and take care of it but something told me to ask how much it was first... 80 bucks for each one!!! Are you kidding me? For a ******* socket? That's a complete rip off.
So what should I do? I'm sure there is a cheaper way to do this... Does autozone or something carry the part I need for cheaper? What part number is it?

Solder the replacement in, don't use crimp connectors. Reason sockets go bad is the high current causes high heat when run through a connector that gets corroded (corrosion = resistance = heat). Same thing will happen with the resistance crimps are notorious for.
ROCKAUTO sells the socket for $37.79 check out their site; its under electrical: turn signal lamp socket. Its a 3 way socket with two leads and the GM patr number is 12159662

https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-o...s-blowing.html has some information how to replace the socket (it's a firebird, but similar to the camaro) without splicing.
But just to be sure the front turn signals run all the time because they are dual filiment or are mine just messed up. I got my car about 3 weeks ago and I'm still learning it. Thanks.

@MelScrilla- I'd replace the socket now if its black and looks corroded inside. | Yes, they're on the whole time your car is on. So, no worries about that.
