interior door crack????
My T/A is black on black.
hey raven, sorry i couldnt get the pic to upload the last few days. damn uter was giving me some problems. i talked to the guy at my local dealership and he is finding out of there are any recalls on this problem. should be updated soon.
piece and not the door structural? Maybe you could pull
the trim and glue a backing piece to keep it under
control?
Or is it just a vinyl-grain "decal" on the door composite?
That would suck.
My Camaro has a very different trim, soft vinyl there,
I guess this is why this is a Firebird-only deal?

Mine came up just after the regulator on the driver's side was replaced.
I sold mine on Ebay, cheap, ..., Someone actually bought it, ..., And then bought a better new condition door panel from one of the forums.
I didn't think I could get the dealer to replace it, because I had recently had it off a couple months before for a broken window replacement.

Seems that it must be some defective molds as some people have one door crack in a year and others go 4 or even 5 years without any cracks at all??? Weak plastic in certain production runs I guess....
but a buddy of mines' S10 ('99) has this
His is cracked on the top just like that pic of the black formula, AND the middle of the doorpanel near the speaker cracked.
He says it was just from his arms or legs leaning against it from driving.
But my old S10 never did that, and it had WAYYY more miles and abuse.
anyways, my Camaro's driver side doorpanel-armrest is warped though. Right on top where the armrest attaches to the panel.
I dont know if its from heat or humidity
Dear Mr. Drasher,
Thank you for contacting the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center. We appreciate
you taking the time to write us in regards to your Pontiac Firebird.
We at Pontiac are not aware of a majr concern with the characteristics you have
described for your vehicle.
However, it most certainly would be covered under your new vehicle warranty. You
would just have to make the time to get your Firebird in to have it diagnosed.
We have checked our database for recalls or special campaigns on your particular
vehicle and there are none in effect currently or in the past. It is true as
well that there have been no recalls issued.
If there is a trend that you have noticed and others have as well, we reccomend
highly that each customer bring thier concerns to our attention so that we may
log them into out system. This is one of the ways GM decides a recall is
necessary.
