Default Drivers Side Door Handle is Wobbly

Is there an easy fix for this (spring maybe) or should I just buy a new one for twelve dollars already painted in my color.

Everything is fine but there is play in the door handle. I like it tight! Don't we all?

Thanks.

for tweleve dollars id say get the new one. once a spring loses tension i dont think its worth trying to bend it back. it will just end up lose again.

Thanks for your opinion. I agree.

Ever done this? I had the door panel off the other day replacing window motor. Seemed relatively easy but I was out of patience and did not investigate the handle too much. it was late and my beer buzz was kicking in. Didn't want to force/break anything if you know what I mean.

How happy are you with those Kooks? Easy install? My brother seemed to have a pain in the butt with his pacesetter install and I hear Kooks are install friendly. Any truth to that? ORY means no CATS, right? I wanna keep cats.

Thanks...

pacesetters are a breeze. Hooker super comps where a pain. Kooks fit very well, but cost a ton.

for the money, I'd rock pacesetters on the street.

Who sells these pre-painted for $12?

I've been holding off on replacement since I'm not ready to deal with buying a black one and then having it painted.

nope never replaced the door handle on an f-body. cant be too hard...maybe 2-3 screws/bolts a should hook to the rod that runs to the lock mechanism. and for the other poster...the kooks are nice! very high quality. drivers side had to pull the oil filter and was a little tight. pass side was a breeze helen keller could have done that install. and yea ory = no cats

Thanks for the info on Kooks. Any bump problems underneath against street/car? My bro ran into that with pacesetters against the car (not lowered). My car is lowered with prolines.

So I think I will go with Kooks LT's, but keep my cats and flowmaster. Will my stock y-pipe work? My bro went with the ORY (offroad no cats).

I am hoping to gain about 10-12% hp and torque with this. My last dyno run was a few years back but the car is well maintained and runs solid. I am hoping to go from the 303 hp to about 330 or so and the 313 torque to about 340 or so with this mod. Been waiting twelve years man.

i have tons of ground clearance now compared to my old set up..hooker lts and a y pipe with cats welded in. havent hit anything yet with them but m still really careful because of all the crap the last setup caused. the numbers in my sig were with the rusty hookers and anexhaust leak at the flange i didnt know about until i put the kooks in. subtract about 40 hp and it shoul give you an idea of were you will be 330-340 should be doable. I dont know about the stock y pipe tho...i wouldnt think it would work because its longer because it connects to the stock cat up by the sides of the block.

Shoot me a pm also.
I don't think you will have a problem posting a link. I would not think there is much door handle competition around here.
