Default Lost door key and battery is dead i cant get in my car!

i have no idea how to get in my car. i lost the door key and i have the remote but the car is dead. i've heard of pulling the bulb for the license plates and getting a scribe and insert it on the positive side with the positive jumper cable attached to it. and then the neg. cable to a ground and start the car that way. thats what im doin now. all the exterior light are on but will this charge up the battery? what r other ideas???

A dealer can cut you a new door key off the VIN with proof of ownership - good to have one anyway.

There was a guy on here with a CTS that had the same problem and here is the link to what he did. Not sure it will help you since its two different cars, but give it a shot.

Its easy as pie to slimjim a 4th gen. I could get in faster with a slimjim than my key. You just need a piece of metal about 1 1/2" by 24". Put a slight curve into it so its kind of like a bow. Then hold it so the bowed in side is facing you and insert one end pretty much right above the lock. Slide it down you will feel it hit the lock. Slide up and down a few times and viola!

I told you it was easy. I had to repo a set of seats I sold once. LOL. That and I used to lock my keys in my car like once a month.

Of course the scary thing is, if it is easy for us to get in, it is easy for someone else to get in..... :/
