Thumbs up oil filter pf59 long oil alternatives

Ive been using ac delco's pf59 long oil filter for a while now but cant seem to get my hands on them anymore since theyve been discontinued, I was thinking about switching to a mobil 1 filter because I heard they use better filter media and they have the drainback valves....so does anyone know which one is a good alternative to the pf59? Thanks

Mobil 1's are good filters, made by champion labs just like K&N's. If you can find a Mobil 1 equivalent to the extended AC Delco then use that.

The Wix suggestion is a good one too.

Rockauto is showing the PF59 in stock (as an alternate for the PF46, I think), although it's hard to tell if it's an extended-case filter by the picture.

stop using ac delco, unless it synthetic media version, if you look inside , the cage is made out of plastic and not metal like before, It caller E-core version ( cheap version ). I havent heard any engine damage by that yet, but few peoples having the filter media coming apart. I would look indo, wix ( napa gold ), pure 1, bosh, mobil 1, k&N, or if you have pepboy try the RP filter, its made synthetic media and can handle 13k+ miles. Hell motorcraft filter is nice too and cheap 3.45 at walmart and can handle 5k miles.

I've been using the AC Delco Synthetic Media UPF44 on my C-5 for several years. However, I recently got my hands on a couple of Mobil1 equivalents, due to an "oil change special" at Advance Auto Parts. After installing the Mobil1 filter on the car, I see that it's about 3/8-1/2" longer than the AC Delco filter, and I'm a little concerned because it hangs down past the oil pan, and around the same level as the crossmember.

My point is that I believe the UPF44 and PF46 are the same height, so if you wanted something "longer", the Mobil1 filter might be your ticket.

PF61 is the replacement for the 59.
