Default A/c

Wondering why for some reason my a/c won't work when I'm in the direct sun light it won't blow cold air. But when I'm under some shade it will work ?

All I can say is maybe your condensor needs to come out and get a professional cleaning by a radiator shop.

If it's smelling humid, I'd check the evaporator drain to make sure that it's draining. The evap box may be retaining moisture.

I have to agree with him. I cant image anything else playing a part with your "direct sunlight" problem. In direct sunlight maybe your condenser reaches a temperature where not enough heat can be remove from the r134 to condense it into a liquid but in the shade it can. Check your fans also but clean the condenser.

low charge and dirty condensor would be my guess.

Do you have vent temps when this happens, I would assume your system is just very weak due to the low charge (or damaged compressor) and is ok in low heat load situations, but the direct sun adds too much heatload for the system to cool.

have the system discharged and charged with 1.5# and measure the vent temps and pressures.
