Just put headers on the car, and i notice when i shift 2nd real hard, it almost sounds like the tranny is banging against the bottom of the floor? im guessing my tranny mount is shot already? car has 33k on it, and i have a m6

It could be, or it could be your Y pipe banging against your floor which would be because of #1 poor Y pipe to floor clearance or #2 your motor mounts are shot / too soft and need to be replaced or upgraded to poly mounts or solid mounts.

Like-new or brand new OEM mounts still might be too soft if you have less clearance than you did with your old header / y pipe setup.

I'm not sure if there's any way of testing this, though.

There's a mini-guide for the tranny mount at the bottom of this page.

tranny mount only takes 10 mins to istall with a good jack and tools on hand could also be your torqe arm mount ,mine broke right after the trans mount so if the trans mount or torqe arm mount is broke go ahead and replace both and same some time

ad d another 25 mins or so if its ur first time replacin the torqe arm mount it connects to the back ot the trans and usally has three bolts holdin it on ive found that droppin the crosmember and lowerin the tail shaft down makes it much much easier to get the bolts out plus u need to drop the crossmember anyways to change the trans mount .trans mount breaks are very commen on these cars ,replace it with a poly trans mount and poly torqe arm mount will solve the problem for a street car both mounts will run u bout 40.00 any more than that your gettin ripped off .

make sure to use a 2X4 between the jack and transmission pan whenever you lift the transmission. It avoids you denting your transmission pan.

just sayin thats what ive read on here...actually read it in the tranny/motor mount install sticky i think

if the tranny mount is stiffer then the motormounts then it puts extra stress on the tranny and also vibrates like a **** which makes sense to me but honestly dont know
