Hey Guys,
So ever since its been a little colder outside, my car has been squeak, squeak, squeaking, on start-up. It almost sounded like a ticking too, like the roller rockers or something else. Once the car would warm up it would eventually go away but, it really sounded like crap for those first couple of minutes. So I did a lot of searching around LS1tech to try to figure out what it was and came across a few of the possible problems...I knew it wasn't any of my belts because I just replaced them not more than 2,000 miles ago. Based on all the treads I read and based on where the sound was coming from it seemed like it was most likely the belt tensior. So I bought a Katech tensior and installed it. And BAM, the sound was gone! I highly recommend the Katech Tensior, they make a really nice piece and its so much easier to adjust than an OEM tensior. I just wanted to post my experience and I hope this helps someone in the future.

My car was making some crazy sqeaking. I pulled the crank/compressor belt off and it stopped. I pulled the bottom pulley off and it looks good and feels good, regreased it and cleaned it. Seems like the one with the torx fitting on it is the culprit. Gotta lil slack it feels like and sounds shitty. I was using a breaker bar and couldn't get that freakin thing broke loose. Any suggs???
