2001 Will not turn over
My 2001 ws6 will not fire. It turns over but just won't start. My fuel pressure is at 60 at the rail and drops to about 45 when the key gets turned, but goes right back to 60 when I stop. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did the engine throw any codes before this happened? Pull a plug and ground it against the exhaust, then have someone turn the engine over and see if the plug is firing. check a couple, the easiest ones to get to.
Also, the first thing to do is check all your fuses, never underestimate the simple stuff.

There are no codes. Once it starts it will run fine untill you shut it off, than it is a 50/50 chance of it starting again. After a spell of not starting it started every time for like two weeks.

My problem was the green wire from the CAM sensor had a knick in the outter jack and was grounding out, preventing the car from starting, soon as the short cleared it fired right up, but just as you said it was a 50/50 shot. repaired the short and never happend again!! ( happened about a year after installing long tubes)

Everything on the car is still stock. We are wondering about the fuel pump because when we changed the fuel filter there was no gas that came out. That really had us puzzled because when ever we have changed a filter even after depresserizing the system you always get some fuel that comes out.

^^^^^^^ what he said
Did a few searches and quite a few people had similar probs; one fix was to swap the starter and ignition relays. I did that and the car started right up. So I went ahead and bought 2 new relays (both the starter and ignition are the same p/n) and kept the old starter relay as a spare. The new ignition relay seems to be the fix; the good thing is it's only a $12 part and it took a minute to replace.

If you got fuel pressure, and it turns over fine with no attempt to start at all , its gotta be an electronic problem.( I went back and checked my records and my problem was the wireing to my Crank sensor not the Cam sensor sorry about that!!) Anyways both control ignition

You figured it out right there. You aren't getting good enough fuel pressure to start the car. That's why when you assist it with ether/starting fluid it fires up and stays running. It can take quite a bit of volume/pressure to start the car.
To verify, next time you go to start the car, turn the key forward to the ON position (DON'T ATTEMPT TO CRANK IT OVER), just key it ON 5 or 6 times. This will prime the fuel pump multiple times and get fuel up to the engine. After doing that 5 or 6 times, go ahead and crank the engine over. If it starts right away, you know your fuel pump is on its last leg.
