Default How To Fix Rear De-frost?

My rear de-frost isn't working, and I'd really like it to. When I press the dash button the light comes on for a split second before immediately going back out. Where should I start, or should I just replace the part(s) and get it over with?

It's a shitty GM design, the breaker overheats and the circuit (rear defog/power seat) won't work till it cools down. When the light goes out see if your power seat is working, chances are it won't b/c there on the same circuit. The only fix is to replace the breaker with a 30 amp fuse, this will fix it but its really a bad idea b/c using a 30 amp fuse on an already overloaded circuit=fire hazard. But many ppl on the forum seem to be doing it with good results, just don't touch the fuse after you've used the defrost for a few minutes or it'l give ya a nice lil surprise.

As you use the circuit - the breaker burns out over time and this happens. (The same breaker is shared with the power seats.)

Just replace the breaker with a new one and you'll be back to normal.

its located in the fuse box by the drivers door. its the middle breaker/fuse on the right side. its labeled as defog/seat. id just take it out and head to the parts store for a replacement.

Hmmm... I'll check the fuse, but I can already say that I find it odd that my power seat works perfectly fine, but the defrost doesn't.

The defroster pulls more power and causes the burned out breaker to trip faster.

Use the defroster and seat at the same time and your seat won't work very well.

But I could be wrong... After 10,000 people having this problem due to a toasted breaker, you could be the first person to come across something new.
