Flickering lights on startup?

Flickering lights on startup?
after i crank my car,the lights, interior and exterior, go crazy for the first minute or so. they never go completely out though. any ideas? bad ground? lights also will flicker on and off on the rearview long after automatic timer has went off, dont know enough electrical to even have a clue.. help?

yea its your alternator man......on my 98, mine was flickering bad.....replaced it with this 145 amp alt from advanced andguess what, my gauge read just a little higher and no more flickering......they have a 15% off deal til march 3rd

alternators are plug and play. I'm getting mine rebuilt now. Remove back screw first. Then loosen the front 3 bolts. slide the alternater and pulley bracket forward about an inch. Use Left hand to feel for the clip. R hand with small screw driver to flip the lip off the red wire plug. pull alternater and pulley off. Takes 20 min. Reverse order and drive away.

Have the exact same issue on my 02 35th, but the voltage gauge doesnt move from past 13 volts...if you give it a little gas...it flickers bad...
Any thoughts on my particular issue...
