Default Driver Side Window Help!

when i put my window all the way down and go to put it back up again it only goes about half way up and then stops. then i have to wait 5 minutes and try again and it only goes up a couple inches and i have to keep repeating until its up. Do i need a new motor or what??!?!?!!??!

This is a classic sign of needing a new window motor. Mine did exactly what you have described, I replaced the motor and everything was perfect again.

Yep time for a new motor....notorious problem on these cars, my new one from autozone came with a lifetime warranty!

pain in the ***,but do able.basic hand tools and drill. do the resistor mod on the motor.

Yeah you will need a drill to drill holes on the inside of the door to find the rivets that hold the motor in place... just use the link RPM posted.

Check out the link I posted above for the instructions. I used that exact method, it worked perfectly.

I did this a couple of months ago. It wasn't that bad. Hardest part was lining up the new motor with the holes.

Its not that bad.Don't be tempted to buy the "cheapo" off Ebay,they don't last for ****.

I really didn't want to get my hands all messed up screwing with a window motor replacement. So I got a local auto glass company to change mine out for me. $50.00 bucks labor. I bought my repacement motor from AutoZone. It has a lifetime warranty. They also had to replace the part that lifts and lower the window that the motor drives. It was worn out with the rivit about to fall out.

The write-up looks really helpful i will definitely be using that a reference. Know of any good write-ups like that one for replacing headlight gears too -__- lol

Wow, I didn't know that Mustangs bite. Next time, put a muzzle on that horse before you touch it.

PS. My Camaro did not bite me when I changed the window motor.
