Pulley chirp, replaced everything
I've read all the threads about pulley squeaks, but NOTHING has worked. Well, for long that is.
When the car is cold I get the chirp chirp chirp chirp until it warms up, then stops.
Have replaced all pulleys, after replacing the squeaky one it stops for around 2-3 weeks then starts again.
Also replaced the alternator.....And put a shorter belt on.
I do have under drive pulleys on the crank and alternator.
Any ideas?? It's driving me crazy!! Why does it keep coming back?

Have you replaced the entire belt tensioner, or just the pulley? I replaced my entire tensioner, and it's now finally staying squeak free. I tried changing pullies and belts before, but it would keep coming back within a short while of installing a new belt. Replacing the entire tensioner seems to have worked for quite a while now.

You say you have tried everything...but to ask, did you spray water on the ribbed part of the belt? Just asking because I thought I had bad bearings, ect. but I am finding that with water on the belt...no squeak. That tells me that it isn't related to bearings or the tentioner. I am realigning my PS pulley when I get home this morning and hopefully that does it. (Fingers crossed)

Maybe it is the tensioner, that is the only thing that hasn't been replaced. But it's not the belt it's the pulleys and something that is causing them to squeak because when the pulleys that have each been replaced have been off, you can spin them around your finger and hear the squeak.
So maybe the tensioner?
