Default Altenator Squeal (video)

So it's really annoying, and I'm looking for your guys' opinion and expertise. It comes from the driver's side. I've replaced the ac pulleys so I've ruled that out. I sprayed wd40 on all the pulleys, didn't work. I spun the alternator and it seemed to have a small squeak for every rotation. Now I imagine with the speed of the belt running on it, the squeak would be constant, like it is in the video. The best way to describe it is a whistle. I also spun the power steering pump and it had a bit of resistance to spin, and a small creaking noise (imagine an old wooden floor). When I ran the engine without the main serpentine belt on, it was quiet as a mouse (besides a little valve train noise). It's driving me crazy and it's so embarrassing when I drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And sorry for holding my phone so close to the engine, I was trying to get a good audio of the location.

P.S. When driving, the sound increases as rpms increase, but right exactly at 2000 rpm, and I mean without fail, it sounds like a bearing is incredibly worn/wobbly and about to fly off. But after 2k it is gone. Thanks in advance.

The belt is about 2 months old and same for the tensioner, but yes that could help. Anybody know where i can buy a new alternator bearing without having to buy a whole rebuild kit? Or is that pretty much it?

the whole alt needs to come apart for bearings........bearings are cheap.............but a rebuild alt is more economical

Maybe I'm retarded but I cannot find the part number or size for a gatorback. Summit Racing has a bunch for my car but all different sizes. 2000 Z28. I'll keep looking though

Don't buy a Dayco! Made that mistake on my suburban. Belt is a year old, so I thought, no way that could be what's squeaking, took all the pulleys apart, even replaced tensioner etc. Guess what it was, the dam Dayco Belt. At least Autozone was cool and let me swap it for a new one, but I left it as a spare and am just running the older original belt.

Perfect because I just bought a gatorback from rockauto.com. Hopefully this fixes the problem! And if not, I'll be doing the idler, alternator and power steering. I'm desperate to get rid of this noise!
