Turn signals stay solid, and won't turn off on dash
So I had this problem start recently on my 2001 Trans Am. My right turn signal would work, sometimes. It would either blink really fast or stay solid. This was totally at random. My left turn signal stayed solid no matter what.
Now they both stay solid.
It gets better, one night I decided to take a right turn. Now anytime I turn my lights on, the right turn signal indicator on the dash just stays lit up. The right turn signal isn't lit up on the outside of the car.
My brights also did this. Turned them on, then off, and the bright indicator light stayed dimly light up on my dash, and came and went. Now that the turn signal one is stuck on though, it doesn't stay lit up on the dash.
Any ideas on this? I'm scratching my head on this.
Now they both stay solid.

Bulbs first. Remember that the bulbs are DUAL filament, so just because they glow with parking lights or whatever does not mean the bulbs are OK.
Also check the sockets when checking the bulbs. The fronts tend to get cooked. The sockets are cheap and easy to replace, you don't even need to splice a single wire if you follow some simple directions.

I have had this problem with bad sockets causing shorts. I had weird problems where my entire instrument cluster would blink when the headlights were on. Check the flasher and then check the condition of the sockets.

If the bulbs look good I would check the condition of the sockets.
Get any corrosion out of there and check the wire tightness and condition into the socket. Also, your bulb may be loose within the socket. I know that is dumb advice, but it can feel tight and still be loose.
Whenever I have seen the signal on the dash stop blinking (which is constantly, the only problem I have ever had on this car outside of replacing the water pump) it was always the socket's fault.

Ok so I know this is an old thread. But I have a little bit of a different problem. both of my blinkers on the dash stay solid when my lights are on. But they still blink when I use them. They just go back to solid afterwards. The lights are always lite up except when I switch from parking lights to headlights. The bulbs have been replaced and so have the sockets. Any ideas.

Since the original post that you quote was from 9 years ago, one hopes he would have found a solution long before you offered your timely advice - although what you are attempting to say is far from clear. Welcome to the Board, but please refrain from digging up and posting on ancient threads.
