^^I agree, most likely going to be a passenger side cat. P0420 is your drivers side, P0430 is your passenger side. Depending on your emissions, you have the option of taking them off completely or you can just get a single replacement. One thing to think about though is if your first one is gone, your second one is definitely prone to go out sometime as well
... the code is intended to point to a bad cat, but it could be other things.
IMO - Starting with the most expensive repair without checking the other inexpensive (but less likely causes) isn't the best way to go.

This code indicates a reduced oxygen storage capacity of the cat. If you don't have a sniffer test then this is no big deal. If you have a sniffer test to pass, you will likely need to replace the cat.

A sniffer is an emissions test. Since youre in ca, you definitely have a test to pass. It could be your cat but it could also be your O2 sensors. You can swap the lowers and reset the light - if it comes back its even more likely that its your cat. Theyre expensive which is why a lot of people tune them out.
If you replace it, go with an OEM unit - aftermarket ones are not usually as efficient and the light will likely remain.
