Default How to keep Firebird headlights permanently up?

I'm wanting to keep the headlights up for a couple months with the least amount of effort ( I would like to not cut the wire on the relay and have to solder it later.)

Can't I just take the gear out but keep the thing that spins the gears in? (so basically it will try to spin but obviously a gear wont be there)

Or is there an even easier way?

Thanks any input is appreciated.

You'll need to disable the motor electrically. I don't have a diagram in front of me, but the easiest way would be to find the fuse that powers the motors, run the headlights up then pull the fuse. If you take the gear out the headlight won't stay up by itself.

So pop 'em up and just take the fuse out? I'll have to do some googling or are you positive this works?

First off, this will kill your mileage. I loose 1-2 mpg with my lights up on the highway.

To disable the motor, unplug it, remove the terminal lock on the motor plug, and then use a paper clip to remove the red motor wire. Be sure to tape up the connector and bare terminal to prevent corrosion.

No need to pull a fuse - Once the lights are "up" - simply disconnect the two pin electrical connector on the side of the two headlight motors - easy!

Thanks Super Lazy but I have a 99 TA so that manual **** is kinda far in the housing. Its says to remove the rubber boot for manual but I can barley reach it. I'm not sure if I need a special tool?

Needle nose pliers. Just pull on the center tab on that thing. Its intended to pull that with your fingers, but the engineer who designed it must have had small hands.
