Default Steering Column and Turn Signal Switch Problems!!

So I have a 96 Camaro and have some problems with the steering column and Turn Signal/Cruise/Wiper switch. First off my switch might be ok, but it is hard to turn on the signal's and it wont turn the bright's on. I also have another problem, you can take the steering wheel and pull it down and to the lower left. Which makes me think it has a pin problem in the column. I have searched for write up's on checking/repairing/troubleshooting this problem but have had no luck. Anyone know of a good write up or could lend some detail before I tear into this? Thanks...

Do you hear a click? It could be a bad high beam switch or a problem with the linkage. (A linkage runs down the column and engages the switch at the base.)

I have a lot of reading to do, I'm sure I will have more questions! Thank You!!

No, it seems to try and click but don't. I can push the switch forward and they will come on momentary.

Probably the switch, then. If you take off the lower IP cover, you should be able to observe the linkage/switch and test it.
