tough/hard blinker?
I have a 2000 ws6 and i live with my brother in law who has a 2002. one day i finally got to drive his beast and didnt think anything but then when i got back into my car-i noticed that the blinker was tougher than his to get to "lock in". so is this maybe a new one after the factory blinker messed up? or is there maybe a screw or something i could loosen? not a big deal just one small detail to make my car that much better

I noticed my '99 has a pretty tough blinker to operate as well. It seems that way in every pre-'01 GM I've driven. Okay, I don't have to do warm up reps before changing lanes, but I can operate the turn signal in my Toyota 4runner w/ one finger. If there's a cheap and easy way to remedy this I'd be interested as well.

Yes - solved this on my '99. I assume you all are talking about the turn signal switch mechanism, right?
If so, its just a lubrication problem on the switching mechanism. A slight pain in the *** to fix, but well worth it. You have to pull the air bag and steering wheel. If you have done this before, its about a one-hour job. The main pain for me was that the F-Body steering wheel requires a special bolt for the steering wheel puller, which you won't get in a "regular" puller kit. (You need an enhanced tool kit or to hunt down special bolts.) Its also important not to drive the puller bolts too far in to the wheel as they will damage the interior mechanism.
Basically, you have to take off the airbag, steering wheel, and lock plate to get to the turn signal mechanism in the steering column. Once in there, you need to liberally lubricate between all of the moving plastic and metal pieces with white lithium grease. Afterward, it should be as good as new.
If you go in, you may also want to replace the two switch return springs. These tend to break after a 100-150K miles and just cost a buck or so at the parts store. Its definitely worth not having to having to risk pulling the mechanism again in a couple months if one goes out under normal wear and tear.
