Is it a power seat? If so, does your rear defogger work?

The power part works and the rear defrost as well. The lever on the side of the seat to decline is stuck an won't budge.

It seems like a mechanical issue. I don't see an easy way to take apart.

Ah. I recall that I messed with the mechanism once and I had to remove the seat from the car and take off the plastic covers off the side of the seat to get to the workings.

Thanks. Fortunately it's at the rake I prefer. Guess it's low priority.

Have you tried pulling up on the seat release to lean it forward to see if that causes the mechanism to start behaving again?

Yes I have tried that with no luck. I am afraid to break the handle.

Yea. Best to remove the seat and take a look, then. It sounds like something is just jammed in the mechanism - hopefully an easy fix.

Update. Finally got a chance to take a better look. I worked up the nerve and used a small screwdriver under the metal bracket that attaches the recline lever and gently pried up after using some wd-40 on the pin and mechanism. Success!! and no need to take the seat out. Guess previous owner never adjusted it and didn't lubricate mechanism. Now it works like new.
