Default A/C Expert...Oriface Tube Question PLEASE...!

Hello,

I have looked everywhere possible with no luck. I have 2001 Camaro SS. I'm replacing the Compressor, Accumulator/Dryer, and OT. I have my new AC Delco Oriface Tube, but it came with no O-ring or Gasket. So, when you undo the connection to replace the OT, do you have to replace what ever medium seals that connection? I DO know where the connection and OT is, and something has to be sealing that connection. Thank you for any assistance.

If you are talking about inside the tube, the interior of the tube holds the orifice in place.

If you are talking about the seals for the outside of the aluminium line that connects to the rest of the AC system, you should always replace the gaskets/o-rings of any AC component that is removed. You can get them at just about any auto parts store. The kit for the entire AC system is like $15.

Unless an 01 Camaro SS is different from a 99 Trans Am, the tube that the orifice is in has a gasket where it connects to the evaporator core.

Each component has a gasket or o-ring between it and the next component. i.e. the evaporator core has a gasket between its connector and the drier tube connector.
