Default Car won’t stay running

hey guys

When I go to start my car it runs briefly then shuts off and is hard to keep running. The MAP sensor code comes up even though I just replaced the MAP. I know the standard issue would be a vacuum leak. I’ve changed the MAP, intake/intake gaskets, injector o rings, checked the wiring connection for the MAP, and examined my PCV lines. All of that is good.

very frustrated, not sure what to check next. Thanks for the help!

Check your TPS, IAC, and then Fuel System, if it won't stay running it might be the fuel pump. Look up Trap Door (Fuel pump access panel) to replace pump without dropping exhaust and rear suspension. Sounds like the same issue I just had, and replacing the pump this weekend. Mine is a 98 SS w/LS1
Good luck

Thanks, I actually just replaced my stock pump with a Racetronix with Hotwire kit. Let me know how you make out. Good luck!

Check your fuel pressure. As mentioned do the trap door method if the pump is going out. Have you changed the fuel filter?

I haven’t changed the fuel filter yet, I’m gonna check the fuel pressure out and look into that. Thanks

Unplug your MAF, if the car runs and idles - stays running it isn't the IAC or TPS... But checking the TPS, and the IAC for soot build up, might be part of the problem and may be masking another related issue.

Trap door installed, fuel pump swapped out for a new one, trap door lid was installed with a 3/4" frame so it seals with the rtv and sheet metal screws perfectly, then a spray of rust inhibitor. Now its like the factory should have done it in the first place!
