torch around the sensor on block. Heat is likely the best method

Figure a way to get some form of tool (vice grips??) on the piece that is stocking out. Or dermal a slot in it and use a large screw driver to turn it

Heat around it quite a bit

Did you not see the picture? The block broke not the sensor.

My bad...saw 1st pic quickly on my cell phone and thought the threaded part of sensor broke off "in" the block, not the block casting

If you can't get it welded then I think you could relocate your knock sensors to the sides of the block like the GenIV engines. It would require lengthening the harness and I think drilling and taping two existing bolt holes.

I have heard of that on ls2 but I'm not sure if it will work with an ls1

I though I read a sticky about swapping an LS3/L92 into a '98 - '02 Fbody with one option to drill and tap the gen 4 block and install LS1 knock sensors. I think as long as it's secured to the block it should sense knock, regardless of Gen IV or Gen III. I hope someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

Edit: here it is:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...02-f-body.html

From thread,
"-Knock sensors from your LS1
-Drill & Tap block 10mm x 1.5 for knock sensors same as LS2 swap
-Knock sensor extension harness (katech or racetronix)"

Hopefully my idea will work for you if necessary. Good luck.
