Default Exhaust hanger repair

The metal clam shell broke on the PS within the last few days, so the exhaust is hanging on the axle on that side but the DS is still held up by one generic hanger. It looks like the original clam shell hanger was PN 10407350 which is discontinued. I bought this SLP Dual Dual kit used many years ago and I was not involved with any welding on the exhaust. Recommendations on the proper repairs?

I have one of those clam shell hangers I took off my car that was on the passenger side if you're interested.

Here is an option from Walker (#35648), the thread is several years old though so I'm not sure if this item is still in production:

My local part-out shop thinks they'll have one on Monday, unsure of condition. If that falls through, I'll get in touch with you.

It looks pretty good. Can you unbolt it from the frame and have it welded?

By the time I got it to the shop, the rubber piece had fallen off. We have it safety wired to keep it off the axle for now, pending a replacement clamshell. Is that rubber piece sold separately? I'd prefer to get a good one and then attempt to weld the original to keep as a spare.

No, not originally. It was a single part number for the compete assembly with no availability as a separate part from GM. However there might be an insulator (the rubber piece) from another application which could be made to work - no idea what that would be though.

This is what came off the local donor car, looks similar, can't really tell without having mine removed. Biketopia, can you post photos of yours?

^ That appears to be the correct insulator assembly for the over-the-axle pipe at the passenger side hanger.

For further comparison, you can see additional pictures of the correct stock piece in the link I posted in Post #4 above.

I picked up the local used hanger, since the insulator PN matched the PN shown in the post #4 thread.

My bad just saw this, the one I have looks like that, but it appears to be fully molded in rubber. I'll post up a pic a little later.

Hawks to the rescue. Fair price considering the quality and it replacing all of the OEM hangers and fasteners.
