Default Header/motor mount instal now car wont crank at all

So 98 A4 Camaro just finished installing polyurethane motormounts and se 1-7/8 headers everything went super smooth but the car now wont crank at all, no noise what so ever no ticks or anything. Putting the passenger header in, I removed the starter and put it back in exactly the same no issues at all. Outside that I didnt remove anything else no coil packs or anything and got the job done. I have a month old battery in there the terminals are clean. I tried swapping the starter and ignition relays already for the fan ones no luck there. The grounding and positive cables on the new starter are completely secured i checked a hundred times. Grounding behind alternator was good too so any help would be great.. my headlights work, power seat works, hazard light gauges pop up if i turn them on but nothing else on the dash lights up, radio doesnt turn on either. Please help!!

Only thing I can really think of is the exciter (smaller) wire attached or loose/damaged? Hit it with a meter or test light as someone cranks and see if its getting power. Can point out a possible starter issue if you see light or voltage.

So ended up running the negative on some jumper cables from the battery to the starter tried to the body as well that should take care of any bad grounding or damaged wires right? Still had no luck with that complete silence.. gonna try by passing the starter entirely with one of those button starter deals and see if i get anything. But any other ideas or suggestions to check guys? If not I’ll probably end up taking it in. I cant find anything it just doesnt make sense.. thanks

Is the alarm activated or is the security light on? Make sure you've wired the starter correctly and if so start looking at your ignition switch.

You should get 12V to the starter when you key on. Most likely will not start with the alarm activated or with the security light on. The keys these cars use have a resistor built into them and there may be a problem with the ignition switch or the VATS. Could disable the VATS system if you have HPTuners.

So update I do get 12v to the starter so good there. I have tried directly grounding the yellow/black wire for the starter relay to the body nothing still. Also got a new key cut with the correct ohms and still nothing. I have the gator vats bypass coming in next week to try that but still is there any more suggestions or paths to take or try?

If the small wire to the starter gets 12V when you try and crank, and the main heavy wire should alway be 12V hot. it should turn over, if not, You have a bad starter/solenoid.
If you connect 12V with a jumper to the solenoid post on the starter it should crank.
The starter grounds to the block the block should be the main connection to battery negative.

With a Volt meter on OHMS, measure the block to battery neg post should be near 0 ohms. anything above a half ohm means your grounds are a problem.
Do the same from the ground post on the firewall to battery neg should be 0 ohms.
Switch to volts on meter, turn key on check the same two points should not be more than .5 volts, if either one is,, your grounds are bad/incomplete..

Neutral Safety switch will stop engine from cranking with no other symptoms.

Ends up why it still was struggling to start was because of the coolant temperature sensor on the driver side head was broke.. car runnin great now after I repinned a 99+pcm with a tune by frost. Also grinded a bit of driver side k member, the header was vibrating on it like crazy. Anyways thanks for all the tips and suggestions guys it helped a ton
