German Castrol EMERGENCY!
I dunno about all this stuff. I had one of those oil analysis things done at blackstone labs, I started off with 5-30 valvoline in my car for the first 6K, switched to mobil 1 5-30 early spring/late fall, and ran 10-30 in the summer for the first 2 years, and last year went to the 0-40 The results of the test came back with next to nothing in teh oil as far as signs of wear. I've only got 17K on my car, and I change the oil every 3 months in the summer... which works out to about 1000 or so miles. Excessive yes, but the oil analysis shows no wear, and the magnet never has any debris on it... so I guess it's not hurting anything. I originally thought I had a consumption problem... until I bought an AMW catch can. Now I know I don't have a comsumption problem, I just have a shitty PCV system that likes to suck oil OH well.

I did my part in writing (email) to Autozone customer service asking them to continue carrying the german made castrol 0w30 in ALL stores, not just the ones with 20+ foot oil racks. A rep replied that he would pass it along and that all requests on the matter would be taken into consideration.

I also went to every Autozone in my area to buy all they had. Yes, I can confirm that they are currently selling for 3.99 per quart and I have bought 23 so far. I also found some bottles that were marked a little different than before.
The quote "Made in Germany" is on the left side back of the bottle, not the right side. I found another bottle that looked just like the german label, but said "Made in North America" not "Made in Germany" The colors were NOT yellow like the american made stuff, but red just like the german variety. I should have opened the bottle to see if the oil had a green tint to it.

I found 7qt's of the GC 0w30 at Autozone today
I asked the guy at the counter if they had any more and his computer showed two more cases, cept when he went back to find them none were there, doh! I let him know how popular it would be if they kept it stocked with the GC, the manager said he'd try his best to get the german stuff stocked.

I think they still sell it around here... I haven't checked in a while though. Anyone need me to go shopping for them?

i guess im just lucky that my car dosent use any oil and ive stuck with the 5w 30 mobil since day one. i bought a catch can and found out that was a waste of money ( for me ). but i might look into the castrol just to see what we have in our area. who knows there might be a large stock pile in one of our stores. later
that's cool... mine doesn't "use" any oil in the traditional sense (rings, valves seals, etc.) but I do get a little bit in my catch can... money well spent for me, better there than in my intake track.
