There is a green antifreeze, Prestone, at Autozone that is pre-diluted and is Dex-Cool compatible. I used it and so far I've had no issues.
A salesperson told me that Autozone is going to stop selling Dex-Cool because its no longer going to be made.

I wonder if that is true. I think it was Texaco that originally made Dexcool and now Shell bought Texaco. Shell is still selling the Dexcool though...for now.

I work at Oreilly's and there are dumbasses working at my store and every other parts store in town. You just need to weed those kind out one by one. I can't believe he said that it about dex-cool.

Nothing wrong with Dexcool. It's all about the change interval. I would not wait 100K miles to change any coolant, IMO.
A salesperson told me that Autozone is going to stop selling Dex-Cool because its no longer going to be made. This is interesting. So what will GM be using to fill current and future cooling systems with? Or is it just that the brand name "Dexcool" will stop? Others like Prestone sell GM approved dexcool compatible extended life coolant anyway, this is what I use now....

wow. Thank god. This is a welcome change. usualy when I open a thead like this I have to sort through 90% of the posts saying how bad dex-cool is, how it hurts your car, how it gums up, and how you should switch. I am very glad this is not the case.
Let me just add this. Why would GM design a coolant that wouldn't work better for you then coolant thats been around for decades? It's pretty simple. With the new disigns in both motors and radirators which are now using more alum construction, Dex -cool is constructed to work well with that. It's low silicate forumula is needed if you want your cooling system to work correctly. It's really as simple as that.
