Default Problems w/ my 01 WS6

I have a 2001 t/a ws6 and i experiencing some problems with it......the first is everytime i start my car and it is really hot out the exhaust hums like ****(i have slp loudmouth catback and everything else is stock)then goes away after reaching close 210 degrees on the temp gauge.....second when i am stop at a redlight or in a parking lot i get this noise from my drivetrain but mostly from rearend......... like its a chain shaking or metal and metal hitting each other ...........and this definitely does it when i turn the steering wheel........by any chance would anyone know what could be causing this?????

is it possible that the metal on metal sound is a loose exhaust clamp the could be rattling?

loudmouth noise is common, welcome to world of aftermarket ;0)

as for metal on metal. I would inspect everything underneath for anything loose.

I get a chain like rattle, or a metal vibrating on metal sound at idle too, but turning the wheel doesnt effect it.
Ive been told its just the manual gearbox, but Im not really sure...

I too get a chain rattling sound, especially when idling after it has warmed up. hasn't given me any problems, but would like to know what it is for peace of mind.

Maybe the bearing in the clutch on the A/C is going out...hum caused by vibration, and metal on metal sound from the clutch being engaged rattling around?

Well? Are ya gonna share with the group? What was wrong with it? Well, its always a guessing game...even the pro's get diagnostics wrong sometimes. We all were sincerely trying to help...although I know its a real PIA when you have car probs...I've only been rebuilding f-bodies as a hobby for 12 years.

since i got a free flowing exhaust(slp loudmouth) it was building up suction in the secondary air pump (it aint broken so he said it would be stupid to buy a new one) my mechanic told me about a valve that is out there that a company called pace performance sells(something like that) and it relieves the suction that is being build up when i start the t/a at a cold start and the rattle is something in my exhaust ...possibly something in my cats is loose so i am not going to worry about until i get my headers and ypipe.....

read before you say something b/c the metal to metal sound is coming from the area of trans back to the axle......so imo the suggestion of being the a/c is what was wrong was a stupid one but i do appreciate them trying to help.......certainly people on here are too touchy
