power window issue on 97 ws6

power window issue on 97 ws6 My power window on the driver side will go 3/4 the way up and then stop. If I keep turning the key off and on it will eventually go all the way up. Anyone know what it could be. I hope the answer isn't window motor.

It's the power window motor alright. Same thing is happening to my car, started to stop at 3/4 up and now it stops at 1/4 way up and has trouble going down. Luckily they are only like 50$ at advance auto or autozone and have a lifetime warranty. Check out this forum or f-body.com theres lots of instructions on how to replace them.

To answer your questoin on the key is hard to explain but it has to do with the ampage it gets.. try this.. go up as far as you can then tap it down and then go back up.... however your just slowly killing your motor... I'd find an hour or 2 were you can get a drill out and replace your motor...

That's what I kinda figured. I was just hoping there was a quick easy way to fix it.
Thanks alot for all of the info. Off to ebay I go. It just sucks that this weekend is Car Craft up here in Minneapolis. My car is in the show and I will be out cruizing and racing with about 5000 other enthusiasts. I just hope it don't rain so I wont have to pull my window up in front of everyone.
