Sounds like it could be something as simple as a fuse. Either start yanking fuses to see if any are blown....or head to the library and look at a service manual to see if all of those systems are tied into one fuse.

When I bought my car from a friend he put a peice of tape over the bulb of the check engine light. It was because of the cam, before it was tuned and he was tired of staring at it, just hope it isn't the seller trying to hide something from you.

If the fuse is good then you may have to check the cluster it self. (Remove it) There may be just a loose connection. By the way what year is the car?

There could be a poor connection at some of the instrument cluster connector terminals, or the whole instrument panel cluster could need replacing...

Do those lights (such as the door/hatch ajar one) light up when you actually have that problem, or never?

the light has never gone on and forgot to mention the temp guage doesn't work either, i have never seen it move since i've owned the car, but im taking it to the dealership today to have them look at the abs because its acting up, I bought the car about a month ago and I still two months left on the warrenty so im gonna ask them to look at the cluster as well.
