How hard is it to replace window motor?

How hard is it to replace window motor?

I have a 94 Z28 with bad driver side window motor; on a scale of 1 to 10 can a average Joe do it without messing it up. Is there good website to show how it is done right?

i would say a 7 tools needed pop rivet gun, rivets, drill, second set of hands, and patience.

The replacement motors come with itty bitty nuts and bolts.

Here is an install. Its on a 95 but I think all 4ths are the same.

That job sucks!!! I've done 3 of them now. Just did one 3 weeks ago. Have fun, and don't leave any blunt objects nearby as you may be tempted to hit your car with them. Your first time will be fun, once you've done a couple they get a lot easier. Good luck!

getting the old motor out is cake, but its a real **** lining up the bolts to put in the new one. patience is the key.
do yourself a favor and buy the more expensive siemens motor from autozone. its new and not a rebuild piece of crap. which will last longer and you wont have to go through the pain and suffering again.

i just did mine a while back..got the lifetime one from auto zone. went in pretty well..just do a search and you will find the how-to

Just remember, if they honor the warranty you will either be without a window motor all together or just with a broken one while you're waiting for the part to be shipped.
