I run it in all of my vechicles. Great stuff, improved shifting on all my bikes and dropped my buddy's built Twin Cam Harley's oil temp by 10 degrees or so.

Converted from Mobil 1 to Amsoil in my Camaro and noticed less engine noise too. Wouldn't run anything else.

I used Mobile 1 for the first 15,000 mi. on our new T/A. I noticed after awhile the oil would always turn kinda black and thin, so I tried Amsoil as a recommendation from a local performance shop and couldn't be happier. My first oil change with Amsoil lasted 10,000 miles which included racing in the summer heat up to 14 times per outing on a 1/8 mi. track. The oil never did turn black, it just thickened up a little and became a little darker in color, it still looked good. No lifter noise on cold starts anymore either.

IMO it's well worth the $$.

Amsoil is cool. Use it in my other cars. Although, the LS1 gets GC 0-W30 with a dab of Valvoline Synpower oil treatment & a little AutoRx.

I use it everywhere (oil, trans, diff's) in all our vehicles. I recommend it. PM me if you need pricing. Not sure if this violates any board rules, so my apoligies in advance if it does..

LS1-450,
I didn't think there were any LS1 Miatas out there. This is the first one that I know of. Do you have any pics?

We own a 93 Miata. We're considering a V8 swap with a wrecked 90 Mustang with an automatic. An LS1 swap must have been a PITA. Sounds fun though.

Amsoil Oil is the only way to go. I would not use anything else. I feel that it is the best oil on the market and only the best goes in my Camaro and other vehicles.

Well, I admit they are paying me... I've sold quite a bit of the Amsoil Euro formula 5w40 and the XL formula 5w30 to the local LS1 crowd here in the northwest, as well as several people from LS1TECH. I also use it in both my car (spends most of its time getting beat on at the race track) as well as my wife's daily driver.

I sell the whole line of Amsoil oils, fluids, and filters, as well as their new Ea Air Filter, which I think just may have the technology to truly compete with the K&N style filters, only without the messy re-oiling. Have a look:

I've used the Series 2000 0W-30 since 3000 miles with NO PROBLEMS . I change it every 4-5k with either an Amsoil, Mobil 1, or K&N Gold filter. The engine now has 85k on it (of daily, year round use, racing, rev limiter shifts, etc.). I am very happy with Amsoil products. The only concern I have is that Patman (our, and LS1.com's oil expert) seems to think that Redline is a little better at very high revs (I guess due to the different molecular structure). He seems to research this stuff to obsession, but does he have a chemical engineering degree?? In any case, the Series 2000 outspecs any other oil out there, on paper at least (if that means anything at all).

My wife uses it in her car and refuses to let me use anything else.

It's a HUGE pain in the *** to keep my membership association going, and if I don't it is more expensive than using Mobil 1 from Wal-Mart. The oil is a good quality synthetic, but there are more and they are cheaper and easier to get. Likewise with the filters.

Unless it falls out of the sky into your lap, don't bother with it.

I use the 5W40 Amsoil, and love it. It quieted the motor down vs. the GC. I highly recommend it.

Another thumbsup for the 5w-40. I have been taking alot of orders for this stuff and have not heard any complaints. The best part is that the oil itself can be purchased for the same cost as M1 at W-M.

Sorry about the delayed response. Haven't been back to this thread 'cuz oil threads usually become either redundant or boring. Anyway, here's an under hood pick. Intake is a bit bigger now. If you want more, just let me know. Best advice I could give you about the swap is one: use a kit, two: most definately reinforce the unibody/frame, build a proper suspension including reinforced upper & lower control arms, & use BIG brakes. Good-luck & let me know if I can do anything else to help.

I actually met an AMSOIL dealer near to me, like about 10mins from my house. So its pretty cool. I may go pick up some oil from him tmrw. I was actually ready to purchase from some guys here, but buying local is better, and cheaper, no shipping fees

I def like this thread, thanks for everyone who replied,

I think Royal Purple may be rated higher then Amsoil. I'm using Amsoil because of the availability. I'm sure they're both an excellent choice.
