doors locked with key in ignition

doors locked with key in ignition i HAVE BEEN DOING SOME WORK ON MY 98 Z28 and when I finised and had put up all my tools I go to reconnect the battery........and the freakin doors instantly lock with my keys in the ignition! 
now I am gonna go and 
then beat my dog! Help please???

Awww, man that sucks, but you've lightened my day with that story. lol

I locked my keys in the car. You are going to actually slide the unlock lever. The unlock button or the door handle neither one will unlock it. They have something that when the key is in them that it will not allow the handle or the unlock button to unlock the car. You will need to wedge the glass out and slide something stiff in there and pull the unlock lever. Good luck man it is a bitch unless you have one of the unlock tools.

Wow - never knew that could happen. Without spare keys you're probably gonna have to call a locksmith. When my battery crapped out I had to open mine with the door key - first and only time I ever used it - now have a door key hidden on the car in one of those hide a key thingies in case I ever need it. Have another beer...and be kind to the doggie.
