How far can an ls1 camaro 02 go on E?

Well... whenever my check gauges light comes on I fill up immediately and I have 3-3.5 gallons left in the tank (according to the fuel pumping station)..... so how long can you drive on 3 gallons. For me it would be roughly 60 miles

I'd say at least 40-50, heck, I was on check gages once, and drove the **** outta mine for prolly 25+ miles, WOT, the whole nine yards on my way to the gas station. LMAO, still had some in there....

A very odd thing happened to me last week. I was sitting at home and my friend with a '98 TA called me. He had run out of gas and needed a ride to a gas station and back to his car of course. He said that the car just hit E and then started sputtering when he normally was able to go quite a ways on E.
Now the weird part, on my way home from helping him I called another friend of mine who lives a couple hours away and he was stranded on the side of a road somewhere because he just ran out of gas in his '98 Z28! He said the exact same thing as my first friend, "It just hit E and started sputtering like never before, then next thing I know I'm out of gas."
A side note, the TA friend went home just fine after getting a few gallons in the car. The Z28 friend never did get his car to start after adding gas and his fuel pressure was reading 0. He had to take it to a mechanic and I haven't talked to him since that day so I don't know if he has it back yet or not.

I'm not sure how much this will affect you, but since the LS1s have internal fuel pumps that are cooled by the fuel in the tank (from what I've read) you probably don't want to run your car down to E all the time, because you'll eventually fry the pump and it's a PITA to change pumps. I never let my car get below 1/4 tank.

there is alot of crap at the bottom of your gas tank, don't let it run down real far, fill up around 1/4 tank if you can. You don't want the pump suckin up all the sediments on the bottom of the tank.

I've gone below E several times with no problems. Its pretty rare when I fill it up before "check guages" comes on. I've had no problems with my fuel pump and I've got over 97K on my car. I just use the trip odo. to figure out when I should run out. I'm usually good for 220-240 miles on a tank.

it whines really loud when its down to low, even then you've got a god 10 miles before you're fucked, i dont think ive ever run completly outta gas in that car, but i wish my old concord had it, it wouldve saved my *** a few times
