Changing Spark Plugs and Wires
So I did a search already, and from what I understand the #5 and #7 cylinders seem to be the most difficult. It seems I'll have to get at some of them from the bottom? I've never changed plugs and wires on an LT1 before, it looks way harder on this one than on other cars, and any advice would be great.
Thanks a bunch.

just take your time and try several angles to get to the plug before you get frustrated, I've found that an offset endwrench can help get to some of the plugs when other things won't.

best advice i can give is to allow plenty of time for the job and make sure everything has cooled down. if you have long tubes the job is much easier. i can do my plugs easily in less than a hour. wires arent too bad either just make sure the way you route them stays clear of exhaust and the pulleys on the passenger side. made the mistake of assuming they had cleared and sliced a couple.

Yeah, 5 & 7 are a bitch. I did them from the bottom. You have to smash your arm up between the y-pipe and the starter and tear up your forearm to get to them. Here's pretty much how I've always done my plugs/wires...
1- top
2- top
3- top
4- top
5- bottom
6- top
7- bottom
8- bottom
You can do the entire job with a flexhead rachet, a 1" extension, and the spark plug socket.

It isn't that bad at all. Time consuming, yes.
I had to remove the coil pack -last two from the rear passenger side- and last plug on the passenger side in towards the rear was not difficult to get, BUT, taking off the boot was the one that gave me HELL.
Take your time, do a search and also get great info from installuniversity.com, good luck and expect the exhaust manifolds to scratch your forearms so where long sleves and no watch or jewlery.
