Default Electric problem QUESTION?

I was wondering if someone could tell me why my lights pulse. I replaced the belts and tensioner, but it's still doing it. I had the alternator checked, and it's charging fine.
Do you think the internal voltage regulater is starting to go.

Any help would be apppreciated. Thanks

Does they pulse alot, or just once in awhile ? If it's just once in awhile, it's the AIR pump cycling, and can be considered normal

Hi, It pulses all the time, It seems to pulse faster, with RPM.
I did a search, and it seems that alot of people are having the same problem.
Can someone tell me the odds, if I change the alternater it fixes the problem.
Or is it something some of us have to live with.

Recently my trans am had the same pulsing lights problem. When on the freeway at night the check gage light would pulse along with the headlights. I did some research and someone posted on this site that its caused by the voltage regulator going bad in our alternators. So I swapped in a new 160 amp alternator and problem solved. Although, it still pulses a small amount once in a great while, but not as bad or frequently as before. In other words you won't notice it unless your looking for it. Its a common issue with our cars.

i've also read that it could be a dead cell or a cell going bad in the bat.... (wow!)

I have this problem now. I am on my second alternator already... took it about 3 months to get the second one. This sucks! I have a new battery and this did not correct it. Any other ideas from anyone? Thanks in advance!

RECHECK THE ALt GROUNGING!
it is true that the alt is solidly bolted to the engine but the ground straps sometime get loose, also I`ve KAPUT three alts because the hyd pump leaked directly to the alt, and my car was definetelly assembled on monday because the DUM F#CK who did had a hangover!, the signal wire to the alt was TOO SHORT, so it kep tightening ritmically w/eng movement, Thus light flicker!
