I was using regular oil for about 12k miles. i decided to start using mobil 1 synthetic oil and now my car keeps get getting a knock sensor code. It comes on for a couple of days then goes away dor a couple of days.
I can actually here the engine knock. Has this happened to anyone else?
Will this hurt my motor?

No check engine ligtht? I doubt the synth oil has anything to do with this. How many miles on the car? How many miles since you went with LT's w/ emissions? How long since you changed the front O2's? I bet one of your front O2's is heading south. If you have had codes, have you tried swapping the front's L to R? More info.

ses code P0332 knock sensor bank 2 hi or low input or something like that.
84k on car now. it's been around 4 months with LT & ORy. i installed 2 new o2's when i installed the headers. i haven't tried swaping the o2's. i thought they were identical anyway.
i going to get the car tuned in the next month or so. i think i will have them look into for me. i just wanted to see if this was a common think or if anyone had a quick fix.
thanks for the replys

I was unable to uncover any Mobil oils with a 15w other than 15w-50. Either they mis-wrote 5w-30 or they mis-wrote 15w-50. I guess the former.
I can't see how an oil change would cause the problems you described no matter what oil was put into your car. If the mechanic HAD put in 15w-50 it wouldn't be likely to knock. 5w-30 is a normal oil for this car and the only noises it causes/allows are a little bit of piston slap for the first two minutes or less after startup.
I would think the mechanic screwed something up or something non-oil-related went bad.
$.02

got the car fixed
i changed the spark plugs yesterday. i put in some ngk t55-v power.
the check engine light has not been back on and the gas mileage has come back.
i guess what i'm hearing on cold start ups is piston slap.
thanks for all the help
