Tried the crusie control on the way home yesterday and nothing, it just doesn't seem to work. There's no warning lights on and as far as I can tell everything else is fine. It did work a few weeks back and the only change since then has been a SLP LM catback but I can't believe that's the cause of it.

Are there any common problems with the cruise control that may cause it to stop working.

Car is a 99 Z28 A4 with 2.73 TCS/ABS.

I had to replace mine at 40000KM's. Since then it's been working fine.

The cruise control module sits under the fuse box on the driver side. You can access it from underneat the car just behind the front bumper. There is a latch, you open it and the cruise control unit bolts on the frame if I remember correctly.

if a fuse check doesn't turn up anything, check your CHMSL (rear center-mounted brake light) GM has been known to gang that with the cruise control so you would know when it burned out...

Check fuses first, see if the AC compressor won't turn on (A/C CRUISE fuse). I remember reading somewhere about the center brake light thing too.

My 93 had a problem in the stalk. The cruise would only take if you pressed the slider just the right way. Hit it wrong and you'd go back to coasting.

It was ALWAYS like that. I never bothered trying to fix it, and it never got any worse.

Special instructions.
