how useful is this piece? Well i was playing around with my car decided to check the thermo etc... anyway this plastic piece is right at the front of the car, what does it do and is it really necessary to keep it?
Also, the cover on top of the radiator, is that necessary or is it just a cosmetic adjustment

This deflects the incoming air, up from beneath your car via the air dam through your radiator and into the intake filter box of models without ram air, fipk or cai. The top piece is more of the same.
It's all necessary and weighs next to nothing. I haven't known anyone to have taken it off but wait for more answers on this as I'm no expert. Nice engine compartment....

its kind of wierd how such a feeble plastic piece can be so damn important... the thing is it doesnt seem to fit perfectly, its kind of loose...
