I don't have a clue..
Well today was AWESOME outside, really nice weather.
So I decided to take the Trans Am out for a rip.
Anyways while driving and giving the car maybe half way? I can hear a noise for a second then it goes away, almost sounds like a rattle , like you know how old trucks have those noises when you really romp on them sounds like a sewing a machine or something? ???
Is this normal? and if you give the gas like keep hitting it to half way or so every second you can hear it.

car only has 1184miles now (brand new pretty much). BONE STOCK and I use 91 Premium gas.
I was told it's prolly the driveshaft, cuz I notice when coming closer to a stop then hitting the gas again it does a clunk noise, but when going a little faster say 60ish and hitting the gas to maybe half it does like a rattle for like a split second then goes away so maybe it's also the driveshaft and does a little more longer of a clunk at higher speeds?

I dunno what the hell it is it's pissing me off lol.
no one else can hear it except for me , it's gotta be the driveshaft, cuz I know when I'm going slow and take my foot off the gas then put my foot back on the gas it does a clunk. so maybe at higher speeds and when gunning it to half way which would cause it to downshift itself maybe it would rattle the driveshaft??? who knows?

You're talking about when at speed and you just squeeze into the throttle and for a split second you here a faint rattle? Mine does it also and it has 104k, it has done it for as long as I can remember.

It must be some sort of shielding under the car rattling because I heard it today from outside of the car while it was idling with the A/C going. Gonna hunt for that sucka when I get off nightshift.

the symptoms sound exactly like detonation problems in my camaro.
does it do it when the car is cold? if no and the rattle starts only after you driven it for 10 or more minutes, its likely detonation.
does it seem to do it less or not at all when it's cold outside? if yes, it's likely detonation.
can you get 93 or higher octane where you live? try that if you can.

Yes. other common causes are clogged fuel system (bad pump/filter/injectors), bad tune, bad o2 sensors, bad gas
detonation will sound like a bunch of coins rattling in a coke can. single clank is definitely something else.

My car does the SAME thing and I've yet to figure it out. I KNOW it's not knock because I have a scanmaster

...and I have no idea why or what it is.
I only get it after the car warms up, & only noticed it for the past year.
I've looked into everything I can think of, passangers dont even seem to hear or notice it.
The only new suggestion I havnt thought about, that was mentioned in this thread, is the fuel pump.
My car has had some upgrades, a little more than bolt ons, so maybe my fuel pump isnt up to snuff anymore!
