lots of black smoke coming out of exhaust??????HELP!!!
My car has been blowin black smoke out of the exhaust since i bought it. It's got 80k miles on it, and the engine has been maintained very well. Just did a plug and wire change on it, oil changed every 3k miles, i mean very maintained. When its WOT smoke just pours outta the pipes??? WTF i cant figure it out! I just recently put an ORY and now the amount of smoke has doubled! WTF could be the problem here, I was thinking fuel or ignition, but i just changed the wires (MSD) and plugs (NGK TR-55's). The fuel filter has never been changed though. If anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know! I cant have this car crap out on me!

Generally speaking, Black smoke is unburned fuel. With the ORY, are you running sims, or was it tuned?
Might be a bad tune, or a bad 02. Is the Check Engine light on? Were any of the plugs fouled? Could be a cylinder not burning like it should be. Just too many things black smoke could be.

Well ive worked on the car..i no the car is tuned good. It seems like fuel..maybe the oil has a little in it i dunno. Could be pcv or a bad injector..but as far as i know it doesnt have a misfire and ran good at the track.

Change the fuel filter
BTW an ORY will increase the amount of smoke coming out of the tailpipes, so it may be normal for your particular car
Have the O2 sensors ever been changed, you might have a slow switching one (but not slow enough to give an SES light)
If you can, get on a dyno with a wideband O2 and see where the a/f mix is, if it's rich get it tuned
What kind of gas mileage do you get
