how many miles? and what are the specs on your car?....and if you cut it off and then turned it back on does it do it? or does it have to sit for a bit and become cool again?

what color is the smoke? If its black, you may have leaky valve seals which let a little oil drip down the valves into the cylinder while the car sits.

its white smoke. it happens a lot at gas stations and stuff, so it doesn't have a LOT of time to cool off.

Get your sniffer down there and smell it...Does it smell sweet like antifreeze, that would be very very bad if it did!! Coolant leaking into cylinders!!!.... Possibly condensation may be coz, but it sounds like ur warmed up. Other wise u may be burning oil which more bluish if oil, or black rich fuel mixture....Good Luck

its probably oil. i have a leaking rear main seal (and a massive cam) so i have to fill it up every once in a while and i think i put too much in last time.

if you've got a seal leak and put too much in, then just check your oil level. If its at the full mark or lower, then there isn't any way it should be being burned off like that.

Hopefully, its not a blown head gasket.

the blown head gasket would put out smoke all the time, wouldn't it?

are you talking about a blown head gasket? or the rear main seal?...the head gasket, your car would over heat like a mother....the rear would leak the oil....what kinda of springs and valves do you have? valves can not seat right sometimes after head work and theyll leak into the piston

May indicate damaged valve seals. The smoke, which in most cases disappears after a few seconds, comes from motor oil that has seeped past the valve seals and into the combustion chamber when the engine is turned off.

ok, i've got it showing up in another spot now too. if i'm at a slow roll and i nail it in first gear, it smokes like crazy (i'm pretty sure it isn't tire smoke, but i could be wrong)

im having a similar prob...it seems to be white smoke on mine. checked the oil everything is normal (except for the normal small comsuption due to piston slap). Does seem like the coolant is getting in the oil. Car doesnt overheat either. i just got my LT's and ORY put on about a month and 1/2, didnt get mine tuned. But i dont think this is my prob. otherwise i would have black smoke right??? It does smell like gas and i get the burning sensation in my eyes if i stand too close. and l ike you , it doesnt due all the time, i just notice it yesterday, didnt do it this morning, but did do it again tonight. but i seems to disappear before it even makes it to the spoiler area.....condensation???

bump for us
