Default cars acting goofy...

about a week or so ago i tried swapping cams..but long story short we couldnt get the underdrive pulley off so we ended up just bolting everything back up etc.. now my car under 1000 rpms is acting REALLY jerky and sluggish.. when i step on the brake and keep it at like 500rpms it feels like its surging and when i give it gas its not responsive at all and jerks around til it hits 1000rpms then its fine and gets responsive.... what could be wrong?! thanks in advanc

let me say though after we got my car back together it ran fine for the few days i drove it around.. then i went to hot august nights (been gone 5 days) and today it was acting this way..

I didn't think these cars would run at 500rpms lol. Did you plug all the sensors adn stuff on the intake tract back in? What all did you remove?

my ls1 runs smooth at 500rpms, even in 6th gear. idk what it would be though. maybe 02's or something like that.

Sounds like a Vacuum leak to me. Have you plugged everything back into the intake. Does your rpm gauge work right. What about taking it up through the RPMS does it surge then. Do you hear any ticking or anything.

thinking vac leak here as well. what was up with the pulley? if it is an under drive, you need a 3 jaw about a five ton, take the bolt out and go to a tool store and buy an otc plug that is the size of the shaft of the bolt, slide that in to the hole and the puller will ride on that, do not push the puller off the bolt in the crank, find this out the hard way. also you can use a pipe torch and heat it up, might hurt your seal, but you'll be putting a new one in anyway.

we couldnt get it off b/c our puller wasnt big enough...it wouldnt grab and when we got the 3 little claws aligned and there wasnt enough length in the bolt to make it pull...if u know what i mean? ill send this to my friend and see what he thinks! thanks for the suggestion...
but yeah as far as i can tell all the plugs seem fine! eveyrhint looks normal..

we undid the water pump, radiator, valve covers, etc.. everything BUT the U/D pulley.. and everything seems bolted up right...

You got a misfire, Did you make sure to tighten that pulley down to 230 Ftlbs. I would check over everything because something is causing you to run akward. I would say it's either the pulley not tightened down all the way or a loose sparkplug wire.
