Default Loud Clunk

I have on ly had my car for about 2 months now and i have only raced once. I love the car and baby it about 70% of the time. I can't get over this loud clunk i gt from when i barely have enough speed to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. For example when i am in a parking lot or drive-thru. the car lurches forward and i hear a god awful clunk of the shift. Is this normal, shoul di be concerned about the sound and is it doing any damage to my transmission?

when i let the car coast to, say 5 mph then barely touch the gas pedal, you hear a clunk coming from the rear (A4). these reports are very regular. i'm beginning to think it's a normal occurrance and don't really worry about it much anymore.

i really don't know what it is. it seems to happen in 2nd gear at only very light throttle.

+1 if it's an A4. Mine does it all the time when I'm idling at low speeds then tap the gas pedal. It bothers me a little, but I'm not too worried about it at the moment.

Yeah its the A4 and it is at ery low speed. I suppose it is a normal occurance then. I just wanted to make sure of it I've had to replace a transaxle in my daily driver and tend to be very picky on how my transmission shifts. Thanks for the reassurance though.

I have noticed that the Tranny mounts like to go bad and they tend to make that sound. cheap fix and if its not the problem still good to change it out with a poly one anyways

I've had the same problem w/ my m6 and I can almost bet you its the gears. Get under your car w/ it in "N" and see how much play you ahve w/ your driveshaft before it engages your ring gear.

mine does tha tshit all the time..but i think its due to the torque arm maby not being adjusted properly * i have a BMR adj torque arm* and that allows the rear end ot shift which binds up the driveshaft and make the clunk..am i wrong?

mine has that sound at low speeds as well. If you hear a loud clunk when you hit the gas relatively hard at low speeds, it's likely your tranny mount is broken.

My car "clunks" when I put it in reverse; put it in 1st gear, or braking (with shifter in 1, 2, 3,or 4 - depending on situation). Other than that it shifts fine with no issues. I'm suspecting it might be either the tranny mount and/or the bolts holding the front end of the TA are loose.
