Help! Engine turns over but won't start
It seems to me that the car is not getting either fuel or fire. The last time it started it ran for about 3 seconds sputtered twice then died. I've managed to get it to fire up twice momentarily then it instantly died. These were both after pulling fuses to reset the computer. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's definitely not the battery, although it has gone dead, but I've recharged it. The spark plugs look fine; no oil, extreme gap, or bridging. I've checked all the fuses, under the hood and next to instrument panel, they're all good. I just changed the in-tank fuel pump about a year ago, so I'm kind of hesitant to think that it went out, but I don't hear it come on when I turn the key forward. Any tips, tricks, easy ways to check if the pump went out?

OK to see if the pump went out. Get on your drivers side fuel rail and push the release in the end of the rail. Have some one turn the car on and see if you get blasted w/ fuel. If not then your pump is bad... if so then your pump is good. I had the same problem w/ my car and I jsut had air in the fuel line.

Thanks for the tip. Fortunately for me I figured out the problem. The engine was not getting fuel. I figured this out from a tip given to me by the helpful guy at Auto Zone. I sprayed a little B-12 Chemtool Carb cleaner into the intake(behind the MAF of course). Turned the key and it fired up. I checked the power supply to the pump and it was getting power. So I started with the cheaper replacement of the fuel filter. I then turned the key forward and bzzzzzzzzzzzz, the wonderful sound of the fuel pump. I cranked it and it started then died due to the lack of fuel in the lines. Couple of more times and it started and runs fine. I just found it odd that a clogged fuel pump caused the pump to not come on. Oh well, problem solved.
