Default Everyone running German Castrol 0W30

I got a question for everyone thats using German Castrol 0W30. How many miles are you driving between oil changes? I picked up 7 quarts and a mobil 1 filter last night at autozone and it was $55.00. My wife about had a fit. I would like as many opinions as possible. Thanks guys.

Last oil change was at 6000 miles - after the analysis Blackstone recommended I could go up to 7,000 miles based on my data.

I only change mine once a year in the camaro (~1.5k mi), but I could probably go longer.
I usually go about 7k miles for the 5.3 in the tahoe, and ~5k miles on my 355sbc----all my vehicles run gc 0w30.

I've only been running it for about 600 miles, so I'll check it when the light comes on at 3,000 and go from there.

i know it could go for 7000mi but i'm more comfortable with not going past 3000mi or 6months, it's more of a piece of mind, but there's nothing like fresh oil for an ls1.

I usually run my syn oils 5500-6500. A lot of them are good for that. So since you pay more but you only change 1/2 the times a year I think its even trade plus Ithink its better on the car!

I run mine 5k miles, but it's just out of habit and my paranoia. I run 6 quarts and a Wix filter. The oil comes out looking brand new every time, and I keep changing it every 5k. Old habits are hard to break, especially for us old dogs . I rarely beat on mine, but I DO like to have a "spirited" run every so often . I say it's money well spent, and tell your wife it would cost $35 to have it done at any oil change place, using conventional oil! If that's all she has to complain about, she's got it too damned easy!

Well it looks like I should be alright driving 6000 miles between oil changes using this synthetic castrol oil. I'll just check it often and keep it at the full mark on the dipstick. Thanks.

There's also nothing like the feeling of having money in your pocket. Except in the most brutal conditions, your GC IS fresh at 3000 miles. Keep enjoying it along with the extra pocket money.

The current formula is gold in color, however the previous formula (that most of the stellar oil analysis results around here portray) is green in color. The new gold formula is considered to be as good or better than the green. If you look on the bottom of the bottle, there will be a date code. Some of the early M05XXX stuff was green, after that they changed to gold. M04xxx, 03xxxx etc was green. Do a search (since it's working now) for exact dates.

M0501 and before is the green stuff, M0502 and above is the gold.
