Default ABS, TCS OFF and BRAKE light all on!! Whats wrong?!

Went to the track today, drove down on my 11.5 MT ET Streets, got about 10 miles or so into the trip down and all three of the lights came on ABS INOP TCS OFF and BRAKE. I also couldn't turn traction control on or off, but it defaulted to off. What does this mean??

Thanks

False/faulty reading from a wheel speed sensor perhaps?

Well, I never had this issue in an F-body, buy my daily driver '96 Bonneville had a similar issue. The ABS light came on and the TC was stuck off as well, just like yours. Never gave an SES light though. It turned out that it needed a new wheel speed sensor on the left front.

dude, just drive around for a little. this has hapened to my car 2 or 3 times in the past year. It usually happens after a burnout or doughnuts. I wouldn't worry about it. the longest it ever stayed like that was a couple days. These cars sometimes have really weird electrical issues. After my cam swap, 50% of the time i would start my car and the tcs would be off, but only the tcs. it was pretty cool unless I was driving in the rain. but, after a couple months, that went away too. now everything electrically works fine..I hope

Every time I turn the car off and turn it back on all the lights go away, then after driving for a bit they turn back on, they never turned back on at the track between passes. I'm thinking maybe the ABS doesnt like how wobbly the ET Streets are at high speeds. Maybe once I swap my street tires back on it will behave.

It's heat related. Could be a sensor going bad, but it's definately heat related.
Mine does that if I'm stuck in rush hour or stop/go traffic. Once it cools off a bit, you can turn the key off for a minute, then restart, and it will be off.

Are the wheels the same size 17" or 16". If they are mixed 17" in the fronts and 16" in the rear it will turn on the light.

Maybe thats it... the wheels are the same size, but the tires are NOT, the ET Streets are 26 inches tall, the front tires are 245/50/16s

We'll see if they set again tomorrow on the way to school

No drastic difference there. 245/50/16s are 25.75" diameter. Anyway, I've run 245/50/16 in front with 255/50/16 in back, which is a difference of 25.75" to 26.1" without problems.

Drove it to and from school today (about 20 miles round trip) had no problems whatsoever, the lights did not come back on. It must have been the ET Streets. something about them it doesnt like.

Definitely sounds like a wheel sensor related issue and the different size tires can cause it. Different size tires will cause the ABS system to get confused and disable ABS and TCS (the exact same symptoms you posted). Mine did the same thing when I installed the 9" and I had to make some adjustments to the sensor but now all is fine.

Quick Reply: ABS, TCS OFF and BRAKE light all on!! Whats wrong?!
