We are crazy to drive these cars in the winter, period. But I had these tires on my old formula and they did fine. My buddy with a Z28 has had them on his car for nearly 3 years and they still have decent tread left. I think they are great for the money.

They are great tires for the money, but not worth a **** in the snow/ice/cold.
If you are used to driving on Z-rated summer tires in the winter, then they'll be the same. But if you are used to snow tires or even good quality all seasons, you're gonna need to adjust your driving style.

Yea, they get slick on cold pavement (I have them on my car right now and will buy a new set in the spring), I'd think snow and ice would not work well for them at all. With that said, I used to drive my '89 Formula with Eagle VR50's all year and I got stuck sometimes, and many times I didn't. I have dedicated snow tires in the garage now that I'll probably be putting on today. I also did a winter on the Eagle RSA's and had few issues. I'd buy an all season if your driving it all winter.
Be careful.

im runnin them now.. there great tires wet or dry as long as the surface is warm, slick in cold pavement even when dry, not real bad but you gotta take it easy if you dont wanna burn em up..overall satisfied i dont plan on driving in the snow but im sure there will be sometime where they arnt calling for snow and ill get stuck in it...i would only be in it long enough to get home tho... ill let you knwo how they are in snow then.

I live a snow belt, once the ZRi gets cold it has no traction at all. Its really hard to believe how bad they get, luckily I park it for the winter but occasionally I back it out and get stuck on my driveway. 4 compact spares would drive better. ZRis in warm weather are hard to beat though.

I agree they aren't bad tires especially considering the price tag, I have not had the pleasure of driving them in the ice or snow but cold whether doesn't seem to change them in my opinion? No Va area but I have a honda for the snow and ice that I beat around in. Best of luck in your choice.
